Library Students Invited to Take Charge of Their Destiny!

The New Jersey Association of School Librarians (NJASL) Fall Conference is the place to be for students studying to become a school library media specialist. Themed “Taking Charge of Your Destiny,” the event will be held Oct. 26 – 27 at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch. You can check out the preliminary program at http://www.njasl.org/FallConf.

Featured speakers include author and librarian Toni Buzzeo, who will present on how the library can support the Common Core, as well as the author of “The Library Voice” blog, Shannon Miller. Dr. Joyce Valenza will facilitate the NJASL Unconference, an inspiring session where school media specialists can exchange ideas, best practices, and technology information.

In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking and fun, including a bonfire on the beach, and access to nearly 40 exhibitors and 40 authors who will offer new tools and stories for libraries.

NJASL offers a discount conference registration fee for students to encourage them to attend and learn more about the field while gaining valuable networking opportunities.

Join us for an invigorating two days of learning, sharing, and networking!
